So exactly what is a Sketchcrawl? This was exactly my question when I stumbled across www.sketchcrawl.com. I soon discovered that a Sketchcrawl is an event where a group of artists of all abilities get together and have a day of sketching around a city. Apparently, I am a bit slow on the uptake as Sandra Busby knew exactly what they were, but maybe you’re like me and don’t know either.
Sketchcrawls were first created by Enrico Casarosa
From the blog –
‘Three or four years ago a good friend of mine had a fun bachelor party consisting of visiting ten bars and pubs along the N-Juda Muni tram line: a “PubCrawl”. And crawling we did, in fact we didn’t make it past the seventh pub. Quite the night, but that is where I got the idea for the name SketchCrawl when a few months later I decided to do a whole day of intense drawing around the city.’
One of the ideas behind a Sketchcrawl is that it makes drawing in the city less daunting than just standing creating art by yourself. You can meet up with local artists and then split up into groups to go sketching. Plus, you can also share ideas and learn tips from the other artists and of course make new likeminded friends.

It is something I have wanted to do for years. I have never done it though.
I haven’t either, but it sounds fun.
