This week I am taking inspiration from artists I love, something suggested in a course from SVS Learn.
Today I’m looking again at the Pinterest Board I created in Day 1 of the Find Your Art Style Experiment. I pick out Felix Scheinberger‘s work to use as inspiration.
For the first drawing I try a partial blind contour drawing to try and create interesting lines and then bolden some of the linework with a thicker marker. Next I dab on watercolour in areas of the drawing in a loose style. Finally, because the drawing has been done of a toned paper I add some white gouache for highlights and also manage to slosh some of it on my jeans.
I am a little frustrated that the image looks more realistic than my intention. I wanted it to be much more interesting so I decide to give it another go. After a couple few more attempts I decide to call it a day and go and make myself a cup of tea! Tomorrow is another day.
