It’s day 42 of the Find Your Art Style Experiment. Today I decided to draw on the yellow pastel paper that I showed in my Day 40 video. I was curious to see whether it would work better or worse than the blue I had tried before.
Drawing the Abstract Face Outline
I chose the smoother side of the paper this time, but it still had quite a bit of texture and drew out a rough outline.
Applying the Neocolor ii to the Drawing
Next, I started applying Neocolor 2. I wasn’t sure whether to use my Yellow Neocolor or just let the paper show through, but decided to use it in the end so I could blend colours.
I felt quite pleased with how things were going and almost didn’t add water, but then decided I could do with smoothing a few things out, so went ahead.
Adding Black Lines to the Drawing
Once I was happy with the colour I used my Black Stabilo All Surface Pencil to draw over the Neocolor, mainly on the yellow side
I am quite pleased with how this turned out. I might try using yellow acrylic ink to stain some mixed media paper next time and see how that works in comparison.
I will see you soon.
