Posevember – Figure Drawing Challenge
For this 30 day figure drawing challenge, we are challenging you to sketch a figure, every day throughout November.
By drawing a body pose every day, you will quickly become familiar with figure drawing proportions
Keep up to date with our podcasts and art challenges by signing up for our newsletter
Concentrate on the shape of the body (and tones if you have time), and don’t worry about colour.
Try and capture the line of action of the pose.
You might want to work on gesture drawing to capture poses quickly or you could go into more detail if you want.
Tips to make the drawing challenge more manageable
- Keep it simple. You don’t need to create a polished figure drawing here. Just aim to get the figure drawing proportions correct.
- Take a look at this post if you are looking for pose reference for the challenge
- Why not overlap some of your figures.
- You could make your drawings on old books, newspapers or music sheets
At the end of the challenge, why not make a little video (up to three minutes long) of your figure drawings and send it to us? Or just email us some of your favourite ones. With your permission, we may even feature your work on our site
And if you know any other artists who might also enjoy this drawing challenge, why not encourage them to have a go!
